Last post

I wanted to go back to hosting with the blogger site, but somehow I couldn't change it, so I changed my blog name into A Mermaid's Blog. Which means, this is the last post on this blog.

I'm back

I can't believe I haven't posted for so long, but now I'm back. Firstly, our trip to Amsterdam was very nice. I did a composition photo of the Rijksmuseum where the famous "Nightwatch" by Rembrandt is, but unfortunatly missed a few segments of the building. I still like it though.

I used to do a lot of stationery design, just for myself. I've been planning to update www.amermaidstale with freebie stationery, every time a holiday comes along. Since Valentine's day is almost around the corner, I designed something, but I still need to work on the update of the website. Hopefully tomorrow.

Not yesterday, and I have to finish today, because they have to be ready tomorrow for my son's recital. Only one fully finished, but most are assembled, just still need "fanning out"

little snowman(girl)

After reading Sally's post about Martha Stewart's Holiday issue, which I missed seeing in the shops myself, I went out to Barnes & Nobles to get the issue. The issue was my life saver, since my son came home after one of his classmates had given everybody a goody bag with a pluche santa dollie. My daughter loved it and wanted to have it and they started fighting over it. I offered to make her a snowman as seen in Martha 's issue and she was happy again. Of course it turned out different. First of all, I didn't have the patience to make 3 pompoms, so made only 2 and I also didn't have the time to use thin yarn and make it really stuffed. So it's with thicker yarn a lot more loose looking snowman. I'm very pleased with its nose, which I knitted. Then I added a pink felt hat, since of course my daughter wanted a snowgirl

I also love Sally's snowglobes. Better looking than
Martha's
. The littlest one was running a slight fever last night. He caught a cold, so while I lay awake holding him, so he'd sleep well, I suddenly got the idea to make those for all the classmates of both children. Personalize them by adding photographs of each individual kid on one of the strokes and do the rest of the clasmates grouped together. I'll post a picture when I'm finished with that, hopefully tomorrow.

Ornament

We decorated the Christmas Tree yesterday and my DD's favorite is this angel we got in Edinburgh last October.
